Experience and background

Craig embarked on his career in facilitation around 30 years ago, and in recent years evolved his skills to include executive coaching and coach supervision.  Craig offers a wealth of experience over three decades in both private and public sectors, across of wide range of industries in Australia, UK, South Pacific and Asia. His primary areas of focus have been in Defence, hospitality, finance, retail, marine, overseas aid and consulting.

His early experience included leading small military teams in a range of operational roles as a helicopter pilot. More recently he led a team of facilitators who were responsible for the development and delivery of 90% of the Royal Australian Navy’s leadership programs.

Craig has facilitated workshops for the Royal Australian Navy, Australian Aid, the Asian Development Bank, The University of the South Pacific, Alchemy and Maura Fay Learning, HSBC, Laing O’Rourke, Metropolis, NSW EPA, NSW LPU, DPIE NSW, Commonwealth Senate, Icon Water, Chartered Accountants Aust & NZ, and Department of Defence. His facilitation experience includes the disciplines of leadership development, team building, personal development, culture, high functioning teams, Clifton Strengths, decision-making and judgement, strategic planning, adaptive leadership, coaching skills, facilitation skills and presentation skills.

From a coaching perspective, Craig’s recent clients have been both individual and team-based across public and private sectors, including Westpac, Department of Defence, NSW EPA, Coca Cola, Metropolis, Vittoria Coffee, Vocus and Children’s Trauma Foundation.

Craig's approach

Craig’s approach can best be summed up by his personal “why”, which is “To inspire others to be the best version of themselves so that the world can be a more positive place for us all (because life is too short to do anything else!)”. He is passionate about using this philosophy in all his endeavours

Craig acknowledges adaptability as one of his core strengths, and this is demonstrated through is work with coachees at all levels of the organisation including C-Suite level. Relationship development based on building trust and rapport is a foundational element of Craig’s facilitation and coaching style. He places an emphasis on establishing an environment for open and honest conversations (without which a coaching session or workshop cannot be successful).

  • Certified Coach Supervisor, Institute of Executive Coaching and Leadership 2023 (IECL)
  • Level three certified coach and team coach with the Institute of Executive Coaching and Leadership 2021 (IECL)
  • Bachelor of Science, UNSW
  • Master of Management Economics, UNSW
  • Accredited in the use of Life Style Inventory, Group Style Inventory, Organisational Culture Instrument and DISC. 

Personal insights

Craig has a son and a daughter, both of whom live in the USA. He loves to stay active through a combination of squash, Pilates, pickleball and bushwalking. When he puts his feet up, he enjoys the challenge of a cryptic crossword, even though they often get the better of him.
